22 Weeks

How far along: 22 weeks

Size of baby: According to thebump.com Pyper is the size of a papaya! She is about 11.8 inches long and weighs between 12.7 to 20 ounces! We'll know a little better on Thursday what she's measuring at!

*UPDATE*: I went to the doctor today and Pyper measured at 1 lb 2 ounces!! Sweet baby girl! Keep growing!!

Total weight gain: 9 lbs so far.

Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!! Pyper Grace

Movement: I think I've pretty much got her schedule down! She's usually pretty active anywhere from 8:00 to 10:30 am, right after lunch, and then anywhere from 7:30 to 11:00 pm!

Sleep: Getting up more and more to go to the bathroom but can usually fall right back to sleep. I rotate from my left to right side all night long and I'm most comfortable with a pillow between my legs to support my little belly and hips!

What I miss: Nothing!

Cravings: Still fruit, salads and fruit smoothies and red velvet cupcakes!

Symptoms: Tired in the evenings and ready to put my feet up if it's been a busy day. Other than that i'm feeling really good!

Maternity clothes: Still just the belly band with my regular pants and mostly regular tops.

Best moment this week: Going to see my sweet girl in 3D on Thursday!

21 Weeks

How far along: 21 weeks

Size of baby: According to thebump.com Pyper is the size of a large banana! She is about 10.5 inches long and weighs about 12.2 ounces! Getting closer to a pound.

Total weight gain: 9 lbs so far.

Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!! Pyper Grace

Movement: Feeling more and more movement each day especially after I eat and when I lay down or recline in the recliner.

Sleep: Still getting up 2 or 3 times a night to use the bathroom but can usually fall right back to sleep. A pillow between the knees has really helped me to get comfortable!

What I miss: Nothing!

Cravings: Still fruit, salads and fruit smoothies and broccoli cheese soup.

Symptoms: Some lower back pains and shortness of breath every now and then. Also, this past weekend we had a pretty busy weekend and Sunday night I was feeling some slight pain and very tired. I kept my feet up all day Monday but was still pretty uncomfortable standing. I called my doctor and they said with my history I need to take it extra easy and stay off my feet as much as I can. They said to consider myself on moderate bed rest. Considering my past I wasn't too surprised. 20 to 30 weeks is a very crucial stage in pregnancy so i'll be resting more than I have been. I'm just thankful I already have a strong cerclage!

Maternity clothes: Still just the belly band with my regular pants and mostly regular tops.

Best moment this week: Getting the rest of the fabric for her bedding and having it sent off to be made!!

How far along: 20 weeks

Size of baby: According to thebump.com Pyper is the size of a cantaloupe! She is about 6.5 inches long. The doctor said she was measuring about 11 ounces yesterday! Getting closer to a pound.

Total weight gain: 8 lbs so far. Yikes 3 lbs in a week. I think I gave in to my sweet tooth a little too much. Whoops!

Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!! Pyper Grace

Movement: She is starting to move more regularly and more often! I'm loving each little flip and kick and punch! That feeling never gets old. Brody felt her for the first time tonight!! He thought he felt her Sunday night in bed but wasn't too sure but there was not mistaken it to not, she gave her daddy 3 strong kicks right on his hand!!!

Sleep: Still getting up 2 or 3 times a night to use the bathroom but can usually fall right back to sleep. A pillow between the knees has really helped me to get comfortable!

(Looks like it might be crappy mirror pictures from here on out my photographer is working late now, busy time of year!)

Cravings: Still fruit, salads and fruit smoothies. This week I've really wanted a red velvet cupcake!!!

Symptoms: Some lower back pains and shortness of breath every now and then.

Maternity clothes: Still just the belly band with my regular pants and mostly regular tops.

Under The Weather

I'm SO glad the weekend is finally here! Yesterday I was stuck in bed with the stomach bug. It hit me at about 2 a.m. and unfortunately the rest of my night and morning was spent with my head hung in a trash can in our bed. Now it sucks anytime you have the stomach bug, but it really sucks when your growing your sweet baby and have the stomach bug! All I could think about yesterday was how I needed to keep some water and crackers down for her. Unfortunately, that didn't happen until about 2:00 yesterday. I called my doctor and they called me in some meds so I could eat and drink. I'm happy to report that I'm back on my feet today and have been eating and drinking up a storm!
(my sweet boy asleep in the recliner)

Unfortunately, Mr. Wade woke up at 5:45 a.m. with 101 temp. We went to the doctor at 10 and the poor guy has an ear infection and puss on his tonsils. We got him some antibiotics and some Tylenol to keep the fever down. Hopefully, he'll be good as new tomorrow! So, long story short, our Friday is being spent snuggled up in the recliner resting and watching movies. We are hoping to all be well tomorrow and have a nice family date (those are the best kind of dates!)

19 weeks....almost half way there!

How far along: 19 weeks

Size of baby: According to thebump.com Pyper is the size of a Mango! She is about 6 inches long and weighs about 8 ounces. Grow baby grow!

Total weight gain: 5 lbs so far.

Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!! Pyper Grace

Movement: I'm not feeling her anymore than last week. I still feel her most in the evenings and after I eat. I had my hand on my belly the other day and I could've sworn I felt her kick on the outside but when Brody tried to feel he couldn't, guess i was dreaming!!

Sleep: Sleep is still good while I'm actually sleeping, my trips to the bathrooms are getting more frequent during the night. It doesn't help that I'm even more thirsty at night and drink two bottles of water throughout the night!

What I miss: Nothing really maybe just running.

Cravings: Still fruit, salads and fruit smoothies. However, I have had some sweet cravings this past week. I'm trying very hard to ignore those as that's what got me into so much trouble last time. It doesn't help my hubby THINKS I need to be eating fattening stuff so I will gain some weight, he's been bringing home ice cream ( my weakness last pregnancy was milkshakes)!

Symptoms: My left side has had quiet the aches and pains the past week. I'm not sure if it's the round ligament pain or if it's miss priss curled up in my left side. She was way down on that side at our anatomy scan Thursday so it very well could be her.

Maternity clothes: Still just the belly band with my regular pants and all regular tops.

Best moment this week: Feeling her sweet movements and making plans for her room!!!!

SO....We're having a GIRL!!!

I'm still in shock I think! I can't believe we are having a girl!!! I really wasn't sure what we were having! With Wade I just KNEW he was a boy from day one, so I really wasn't shocked when at 14 weeks the doctor pointed out his boy parts!!! This time I wasn't too sure! I had some boy thoughts and I had some girl thoughts!

At 13 weeks we went in to our fetal specialist for a sonogram before my cerclage, I knew it was still really early to tell anything but I asked if she would take a look anyway. After a long look the sonographer said she had a pretty good guess that it was girl. I knew better than to get my hopes up either way. So I wasn't too shocked when we went back to my OB the following Monday and he "guessed" a boy on the screen but said it look kinda like a girl printed out. Basically, he said he was just making a guess as I was only 14 weeks at the time. Well, that same week I had ANOTHER appointment with the fetal specialist to see how my cerclage looked and how my cervix was measuring. Since they have the bigger and better machine, again I ask her if she would take a little looksy. This time the doctor was in there as well and they both said they strongly felt like it was a girl. The doctor said she felt like she was seeing the famous "three white lines," but before we spilled the beans to wait two more weeks and be sure. Seriously, you want me to hold this in for TWO WEEKS!!! I can't believe I didn't slip up to either one of our moms as much as they questioned us about it, claiming they needed to do Christmas shopping for baby.
Pyper at 16 weeks 2 days

The money shot at 16 weeks 2 days!

SOOOOOO.......the Thursday before Christmas we went back to the fetal specialist to make sure my cerclage and cervix were holding strong, to see if we could travel home for Christmas, and to confirm that this baby was in fact a girl. The s
weet sonographer new we were double checking for gender and didn't make us wait, that was the first thing she looked for. She chuckled when the baby final gave us a good shot. She literally laughed and said "Oh yeah, it's a girl!!" I was thrilled, I was going to have a boy and a girl!!! Poor Brody was a little in shock, I think he had secretly been holding out hope that his might still be a boy. Not because he didn't want a girl, but because he was completely TERRIFIED!! Wade can melt his heart pretty easily, so he knew if it was a girl he was in REAL trouble! Needless to say, he is THRILLED and she already has him wrapped around her little finger. He talks and loves on my belly all the time and it's Pyper needs this and Pyper needs that!!

We decided on the name Pyper Grace. We thought Pyper was different and went well with Wade, and I've always loved the middle name Grace. It's classic and elegant.

We had our anatomy scan yesterday and she looked gr
eat! Her little brain, heart, kidneys everything is growing and developing as it should PRAISE GOD! And they double checked, she's still a she!! Baby girl at 18 weeks 2 days

Still a girl!!!

18 Weeks

How far along: 18 weeks

Size of baby: According to thebump.com Pyper is the size of a sweet potatoe! She is about 5.6 inches long and weighs about 6.7 ounces. No wonder I've been so hungry.

Total weight gain: 4 lbs so far.

Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!! Pyper Grace

Movement: I've really started feeling her even more this week. She is most active in the evening after I've had supper or something cold to drink! Those little kicks and flip flops are getting stronger!
(Couldn't ever pin point down my photographer so crappy iphone photos will have to do!)

Sleep: Sleep is still pretty good. She prefers I lay mostly on my right side. I can tell when I've been laying on one side to long though, I get a slight pain on that side kinda like she is just cramped up there or something.

What I miss: Nothing really maybe just running.

Cravings: Grapes, Apples, and Pineapples, Salad and fruit smoothies.

Symptoms: My back hurts when I do too much and I'm wiped by the end of the night. I'm still getting some pretty bad headaches every now and then, but it's so worth it!

Maternity clothes: Mostly the belly band and regular shirts. I have been wearing one pair of maternity pants and one maternity sweater.

Best moment this week: Going to see baby girl Thursday!
