Christmas

WARNING: This is an extremely long post, read on if you dare.

Well, I can't believe Christmas has come and gone. On one hand it went by WAY too fast, on the other, not so much!! We celebrate EIGHT Christmases so as you can imagine it gets a little wild and tiresome. The first Christmas was spent the weekend before Christmas. We went to Brody's grandma's for the first family get together, 51 people in all! His mom is one of five and four out of the five siblings all have kids you have kids so as you can imagine it's a fun wild night full of good food, lots of babies, kids exchanging gifts and the whole family playing white reindeer.
(Brody and I at his Grandma Poopsie's house)

The next morning we got up and celebrated Christmas with his other Grandma. Most of the same people gather together for breakfast and to shower his
Memaw with her gifts. It usually shorter than the night before but still a great time!

Christmas three was spent with Brody's parents. Friday night
we all drove out to Nonnie and Papaw's house for yummy enchiladas, homemade bread pudding (Pernini's recipe) and a night full of games!! Wade had so much fun playing with his cousins Brooke and Archer. They all got so wound up we finally had to make them go to bed, someone was bound to get hurt (don't feel bad for them, it was 2 hours past their bedtime.) After the kiddos were nestled in bed the adults stayed up until 12:00 playing phase 10, one of my favorite card games. After I won we all retreated to bed for a good night's rest. Wade woke us up at 8:00 and we headed to Nonnie's kitchen for yummy breakfast and decaf coffee!!! Then the fun begin. We gathered around the living room to open gifts. I was a little sad, I really thought Wade would tear into his gifts this year but sadly there was so much going on I ended up opening all his gifts.

(Wade was excited about Mater)
(So excited to open Pyper's gift)
(Brody's reaction to me opening the pink! So cute)
(So excited for Pyper's fist pink outfit)
Later that afternoon we loaded up and headed out to Stamford to be with my family for Christmas Eve night. We spent the evening at my Grandma's house and had a delicious Christmas dinner, which included turkey and dressing and lots of Swedish dishes. From there we went to my parents house to spend the night. Again, Wade was up bright and early to see what Santa had brought. He opened a few of his presents there but I did the majority of the opening.
(Santa visits Grandma's every Christmas Eve)
(New jeans! Alright!)

(Relaxing on the couch with aunt lay lay)
(Playing with his new grill Grammy and Poppy got him)

Then it was off to my other Grandma's house were we enjoyed another wonderful Christmas meal and exchanged gifts. Monday we packed up again and made the trek back to Lubbock. That night we did our little family Christmas, just the four of us!! I was so thrilled, Wade tore into every gift we had wrapped for him and then opened mine and Brody's. It was like he finally caught on to what he was suppose to do. He had SO much fun.

(Loved his new truck)

(Pure joy! I love it)

Tuesday night we went to Brody's aunt's house for his Dad's side of Christmas. By this point we were all wiped out. We made it through the meal but after several melt downs from Wade, and Pyper telling Momma she needed to get her feet up we made it back home.

Yes, it's a lot of Christmases, but we are blessed to have so MANY loving family members that love and want to share the holidays with us. It's hard to say no we can't make it. However, Brody and I decided this was the last year to make all eight of them. With Wade turning three in the summer and Miss Pyper Grace entering the world we are ready to start our own traditions for our children and feel that it all begins with them being at home on Christmas morning. Yes, we will still make it by to see everyone just might not be when they had counted on. It was such a magical time and we are so blessed to give to so many!!! Hope everyone's Christmas was as blessed as ours. Happy New Year!!!

Week 17

How far along: 17 weeks

Size of baby: According to thebump.com Pyper is the size of an onion! She is about 5.1 inches long and weighs about 5.9 ounces. Grow sweet girl grow!

Total weight gain: 3 lbs so far. I'm pretty proud of this. I know that i'm in the second trimester so it's probably really fixing to come on but by this point last pregnancy I think I was already up 10 or 15 lbs.

Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!! I was so shocked when we found out last Thursday!! We are so excited to welcome Miss Pyper Grace to our family!

Movement: I do feel her move around in there every now in then. It's still so faint that if I'm not sitting really still I don't think I notice. I can't wait for those little kicks and wiggles to get stronger and more consistent!

Sleep: Sleep is good for the most part. I'm like a clock, I'm up at 12:00, 3:00 and 6:00 to go to the bathroom. Otherwise, the holidays, my two year old and this growing angel have kept me pretty tired!

What I miss: Nothing really maybe just running.

Cravings: Grapes, Apples, and Pineapples and salad.

Symptoms: My back hurts when I do too much and I'm wiped by the end of the night. I get the occasional headache in the evenings, hormones I'm guessing, I didn't do that with Wade.

Maternity clothes: Mostly the belly band and regular shirts. I have been wearing one pair of maternity pants and one maternity sweater.

Best moment this week: Getting PINK Christmas presents for this sweet girl!

I feel like she kinda popped out there Sunday night. That was the first night I've actually felt somewhat big and could tell I was really starting to grow. I'm so excited we know she is a she and we can begin to plan. Not sure what we are going to do for her room yet, we are still toying around with a few ideas!

16 Weeks!

How far along: 16 weeks

Size of baby: According to thebump.com baby is the size of a avocado!

Total weight gain: About 2 lbs

Gender: Still don't know. We may get to find out on Thursday!!! They have told us they thought they knew what baby may be but wanted us to wait till we went back!!

Movement: Felt this sweet pumpkin move for the first time last night (December 19th). It was so so faint I had to lay really still to be sure that's what I was feeling. It was consistent and over and over again in the same spot!

Sleep: Sleep is good for the most part. There have been one or two nights that I've had a hard time getting comfortable and then when I finally do I wake up at about 3:30 am starving and can't go back to sleep until I eat an apple or something.

What I miss: Nothing really.

Cravings: Grapes, Apples, and Pineapples.

Symptoms: My back hurts when I do too much and I'm wiped by the end of the night.

Maternity clothes: Mostly the belly band and regular shirts. I did break out one pair of maternity jeans today.

Best moment this week: Going to see our precious angel in 4D thursday and hearing that sweet heartbeat and hopefully finding out baby's gender!

I'm truly loving and soaking in the pregnancy! Prayers for sweet babies health, growth and development are truly appreciated. Hope everyone has a Merry Merry Christmas!!!

14 Weeks! Hello 2nd trimester!!! And my cerclage

How far along: 14 weeks

Size of baby: According to thebump.com baby is the size of a lemon! Baby is about 3.4 inches and according to our sonogram a few weeks ago baby was weighing in at about 2 ounces, so I'm guessing probably 3 now. (starting to grow)

Total weight gain: 0 lbs so far. I had gained 1 pound but when I went to the doctor Monday I had lost 1.5 lbs. Not sure what that is about. With Wade i put the pounds on pretty quickly so this is a nice but strange change for me.

Gender: Don't know yet. We had one sono tech make a guess last week on the 4D sonogram and then my doctor on Monday guessed the other way. Haha clearly it's just still too early. However, we knew with wade for sure at 14 weeks. We have another 4D on Friday so maybe they'll get another good look. I think I may be leaning towards boy still.

Movement: Still nothing yet. I can't wait though, there is nothing like the feeling of your sweet baby moving around in there!

Sleep: Sleep is still not an issue!

What I miss: Nothing.

Cravings: I wanted watermelon this last week. Brody has really had to stay on me though, I haven't been hungry really. Brody keeps quizzing me throughout the day wanting to know what and how much I have eaten. Needless today say, hungry or not I AM eating for this sweet pumpkin!

Symptoms: Headaches late in the evening, otherwise I feel awesome!

Maternity clothes: None yet, however, I have busted out the belly band for one pair of pants.

Best moment this week: Seeing our sweet baby on Monday and this coming Friday! (Wade saw mom take a picture and he needed in on one too!)

The cerclage went good last Friday. I'm just thanking our good Lord that it's over and all is well. I didn't realize just HOW nervous I was about it until Thursday night. My parents were suppose to come Thursday and spend the weekend with us to help out with Mr. Wade and dinner but my Mom called Thursday morning and she and my Dad both had strep throat SO...Thursday evening, my wonderful in-laws kept Wade at their house.

Friday morning Brody and I got up at 5:30 to get ready to go. I don't know if it was the stress of it all or what but I happened to look down and saw that I was spotting a little, not much but any is scary when you're pregnant. I began to cry and told Brody to hurry up and get ready, I just wanted to get to the Labor and Delivery floor and get checked in so we could hear that sweet heartbeat. As soon as we got there they began to prep me and I immediately explained I had had some spotting. The nurse got the heartbeat doppler out and quickly found our angels heartbeat, strong and steady at 157. Minus getting the IV (The lady blew a valve and had to start all over) everything else went very smooth. I got an epidural so I was actually awake for the surgery. I requested the BEST anesthesiologist ( he gave me my epidural with Wade) and he got the epidural in quickly, he's so good I actually said "That was it?" and then he and a sweet nurse sat by me and kept me busy talking! I was so glad when my doctor said "All done! Two strong stitches in!" I've been down all weekend and have to tried to stay off my feet as much as I can this week. God is so good and I'm so thankful that He had my sweet pumpkin and myself in his arms Friday and always!
