A week at home, and a deer

Last Tuesday Wade and I made the trip to Abilene with Mike to visit Grammy and Poppy! He had a meeting there so mom met him and Wade and I stayed the week! I needed to get some of my online classes done and it was just nice to visit them without cramming everything into a weekend! We got the lights on their house, shopped around Abilene, and just lounged around and watched Christmas movies and went to the Nutcracker (a tradition the Lundgren girls have)!! It was so wonderful!! However, we we're so excited to see Mr. Wright Sunday when he came to pick us up!
Poppy and Wade are getting sleepy!

Grammy and Poppy lovin on their boy!

We didn't get our things together until after dark on Sunday and Mr, Wright was tempted to stay but in the end decided to go ahead and get on the road. So about 9 when pulled out of the driveway. Mr. Wright had partaken in one or two adult drinks with Poppy so I needed to drive! I was fine with that as we make the trip monthly and I could probably drive it with my eyes closed! However, it is SOO dangerous this time of year with all the animals out at night, especially deer! Grammy had mentioned to me before we drove off to pay close attention to them and not to drive too fast! So about a 5 miles out of town everything is going good but I was approaching a car and had to dim my lights, due to the matter i failed to see a bug eight point buck coming from the bar-ditch until he was at the shoulder of the road and he ran right into my new car, or I ran into him shall i say! Thankfully, the Lord was watching over us and we were not hurt!! I just cried because it hit the front passenger side of the car which was Wade's side! I don't want to even think about how bad it could have been! Other than a HUGE dint in the door and a broken head light everything else was fine! Dang deer know how to do some damage though! $2000 bucks and a new door later my car will look new again!! Needless to say we will be leaving to and from Stamford EARLY on Thanksgiving!! Happy Holidays to all!!

2 Month Shots

Today Mr. Wade got his first round of shots! I had been dreading it for a few days now but to my surprise it was better than I had prepared myself for! I figured I might cry with him but my little man was really tough! He didn't even start crying until the third stick! And what a wonderful feeling it is to know that he is comforted when I picked him up and loved on him! He also had to have a sonogram done on his hips. Dr. G thought they were a little laxity and wanted them checked out in case he needed to be in a brace to correct the problem! Thankfully, they looked great and he won't be needing a brace!

He's growing so fast! He weighed 13 lbs and was 24 inches long! That's the 75th percentile in weight and 90th in height!! I can't believe he's grown 4 inches in to months! I can't image how big he'll be in January! I tell him his mommy likes him just they way he is so stop growing but he doesn't seem to be listening to me, go figure!!

His sleeping habits have gotten MUCH better!! Letting him cry was hard but it has been worth it!! The first night he slept 12 hrs!! He woke up once for 30 mins to eat and went right back down!! It was glorious!! The other nights have been pretty good too!! I'll take a 5 or 6 hr stretch rather than 30 mins at a time!! Hopefully, with the help of Tylenol he will sleep good tonight too! He wasn't feeling to hot the rest of the afternoon so we'll see!! Until next time...

Crying it out...

So we're trying the let Wade cry it out thing and let me just start by saying IT SUCKS!! It just breaks my heart to listen to him in there crying because he wants his momma to come and pick him up and hold him till he falls alseep in her arms! That's the problem though, Mr. Wright and I have ran to his rescue everytime he cries and now we can't seem to get any sleep or get anything done during the day! He literally SCREAMS bloody murder if I set him down for longer than 5 or 10 mins during the day...and when I pick him up he's fine! And this past week he's decided when we put him down for bed to only sleep 30 mins at a time because he knows we'll hold him and sleep with him in the recliner. It's gotten worse this week though and the way he cries when I put him down I wondered if he didn't have an ear ache. So to relieve my mind before we went to crying it out we took a trip to Dr. G's office today. Other than thrush (which he's had for a month and she switched us to a new medicine today) he was healthy and just spoiled rotten!

Please someone tell me it gets better and easier! I am not liking this! My mom says she never let us cry it out, that if babies are crying they are crying becasue they want something. Well i know what he wants, to be held!! Although it is hard i can already tell it is working. I put him down and he cries for about 10 or 15 mins and then he's out! Then when he wakes up 30 mins later I just let him cry himself back to sleep! Prayers for strength and not feeling like a HORRIBLE mother are needed and greatly appreciated!!

Oh and he weighed 13 pounds today!! What a chunky monkey!!

(Really mom, your not gonna pick me up)

2 Months

Happy 2 months my precious baby boy! He turned 2 months Oct 30th! He is growing so fast!! here are a few things about Wade right now!

  • your still not sleeping through the night! I'm lucky if i can lay you down without waking up nd if i can you may sleep 3 hrs. and thats in the bouncer, you hate the crib! Most nights you and i sleep in the recliner!

  • you love your pacifer, sometimes you would prefer it over your bottle if your tired!

  • you always get the hicups when we lay you down flat!

  • constipation is a frequent problem we deal with!

  • you love to ride in the car, you usually fall sleep within 10 mins

  • you love bath time, ifyour fussy we put you in the bath and you relax in no time

  • you love your daddy but you are a momma's boy (Which i love)

  • you make eye contact when we talk to you

  • your still only eating 3 1/2 to 4 oz at a time! usually every 3 hrs

  • you don't like to be set down for long periods at a time!

That's all I can think of right now! He changes every day!
