sleeping with the lights on

My wonderful Mr. Wright left Monday morning for a business trip. Thankfully it was a short one and he will be back tomorrow. So last night and tonight I find myself in our house all alone for the first time (since we've only been married a little over a month).

It's funny on nights I beat Mr. Wright home I have no fears. Get home start supper, shower, begin homework, play on computer, catch nightly shows or whatever it is I choose to do before he gets home and I do all these things with out fear, I hear nothing in the house and I can relax. BUT here is how last night went:

  • Get home and lock ALL doors

  • Double check to make sure they are locked

  • Feed dogs with big heavy flash light in hand (aka weapon)

  • Freak myself out so let dogs in

  • Dogs get bored and knock over water (outside they go)

  • Stay on computer as late as possible

  • Take QUICK bath

  • Ice maker scares the pee out of me

  • Clocks seem to tick EXTRA loud (never even noticed them before)

  • Bed

  • Get out of bed and double check locks

  • lay down (get scared)

  • Turn bathroom and living room light on

Yeah I know....your probably thinking what a WEENIE. I know I am. I've never been like this. I used to stay at home a lot by myself AND my roommate wasn't always home when we lived together. There is just something about sleeping next to a man that a girl gets use to. It feels safe, and comforting. Thank you Mr. Wright for keeping my nights safe and light less.

P.S. If i had a little inside dog to sleep with this ALL could have been avoided. HINT HINT Mr. Wright!

Airplanes, Phalanges, and Yorkies

So Saturday my mom and I flew to Indiana to pick up the cutest puppy every. Yes i said Indiana. I'll wait why you think in your mind how crazy we are....done? I know your all wondering why we couldn't find a puppy in Tx. I couldn't find a breeder I was happy with here so Indiana it was. At the first of August mom lost her Yorkie of 6 yrs (aka child, baby). She was so sad i couldn't stand it so we found her a new cute baby.

The trip was long but FUN! We left from Lubbock at 6 am and flew all day and return home at 7 that evening. We changed planes 5 times all together. It was all worth it though. My mom is so wonderful and she is my very best friend. I know how cliche that sounds but really and truly the Lord couldn't have blessed me with a more fun, cooler, sweeter mom. She would do anything in the world for me and I for her. So since we live 2 1/2 hrs apart we had a lot to catch up on. We laughed and talked nonstop. Our running joke of the day was remembering the episode of Friends where Phebe tells Rachel the her plane is missing Phalanges. We laughed so hard.

It was so much fun. I wish I could have picked up the brother to my mom's puppy. He was cute too! I guess I'll have to keep working on Mr. Wright...until then my 2 Aussies will have to do.

Aww Fall...Yes Fall!

Today I decided to decorate for Fall. Although I had much to do, I though to myself...go work on more homework or get into Fall and decorate. I opted for the second choice. I love Fall. It's such a beautiful season. The leaves turn from green to yellows, browns, oranges, and reds and fall like rain. The mornings are chilly and crisp. Pumpkins and acorns are everywhere, chili is made and hot chocolate sipped in the evening. Children in adorable costumes ring your door bell...hoping you'll ewww and awe over them and receive candy. And fall will officially be here next Monday! How wonderful!

The week has just begun

6:45 came too early this morning! That's ok I thought...I'll go to class all day, come home and cook dinner and chill on the couch with my hubby Mr. Wright. Then it all came flooding back to me, photo assignment due thursday (these are a lot of work and take more than a couple of hours), video needs to be shot for video production, study for test thursday, and friday, wash sheets on guest bed for mom....and the list goes on and on. At least Mr. Wright got to enjoy his evening. Oh to be "grown up" and have a full time job. To break it down for you....school STINKS!
