I am really getting tired of

Seeing this.........

when all I wanna see is THIS!

This is probably not the forum to put this out on but I think i'll feel better if I vent a little. We have been trying for another precious angel for a while now, 10 LONG MONTHS that is. The first couple of months I told myself, no big deal you're just starting it'll happen just don't obsess about it. I did pretty good for the first couple of months. I went with the flow after all I was busy with a sweet 1 1/2 year old, work, school, birthdays, and Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I even did good the first few months after that but then as if I didn't have the baby bug bad enough, everyone around me became pregnant. I know you're thinking "ok your exaggeration Loren, not everyone is getting pregnant." Oh no? Try 20 some odd people I know pregnant. Most of these people have either already had their baby or are due this summer. Which makes it even harder. I've been to 4 baby showers in the last 2 months. I love my friends dearly and I am TRULY thrilled and happy for them and can't wait to meet their sweet babies and love on them. I'm just ready for my turn as well.

I probably sound like I don't love my family now, and that is not it at all. I LOVE Wade SO much. He is EVERYTHING to Brody and I! I just see so many people with kids close in age and see what good buddies they are and I want that for Wade. Also, we would really love it if God allowed us to have three children so I would love for baby #2 to begin forming and making his/her way to the world. And I see how much love one child brings to a family, I know that love will only double with two.

I know everything happens for a reason and God's timing is perfect, I have clearly seen that with Wade. I never would have imagined being married only 5 months and finding out I was pregnant but I wouldn't have had it any other way. I know the Lord is a faithful and loving God and he will bless us with another little angel in HIS timing. I pray that he will just calm my nerves and prepare my heart for each month that is NOT the month. And I pray my mind will stop playing games with me. I must remind myself PMS is a lot like pregnancy symptoms, however, I seem to forget that each month.

21 Months

Wade, I don't know where the time has gone. I feel like I blink and you have changed or you are doing something new. I love it and hate it all at the same time. I love how much you are talking and telling us what you need or want, I hate that my sweet baby boy is getting SO BIG!! Here is what you are up to.

You are repeating A LOT of things we say! You say on your own- K, come on, Love you too, bite, please, thank you, cookie, cracker, juice, milk, yes, no, Elmo, H
i, Bye Bye, Morning, Outside, Poppy, Grammy, Papaw, NonNon, Mama, Dada, baby, Ta ta (Tucker), Ade (Wade) and about a million other things i can't seem to remember right now!

You repeat almost anything though, my favorite right now is "See ya in the morning." I tell you this every night as I'm walking out of your room and you have started saying it back, my heart swells up with joy when I hear it. Of course my favorite thing is when I say "I love you" you quickly reply with "Love you too." No words have ever been so sweet!

You are into everything and the little boy in you is coming out more and more. You LOVE to climb on things, you have ridden your airplane off the coffee table a
couple of times, you can ALWAYS find mud or make mud with the water hose when mom isn't looking. You LOVE to be outside as well. If your in a crabby mood going outside is a sure fire way to make you happy!.

When we talk to you you have gotten to where you always reply back with a yes or no or something! It seems that you understand more and more what we a
re saying.

You are really into Toy Story right now, you still love Elmo, and poor Nana is STILL tagging along everywhere we go.

You and Tucker McClure have become quite the friends. Y'all get excited to see each other in the mornings at daycare.

We have already blown up the pool several times and you LOVE the water. You think swimming is pretty cool. You still love to take long wagon rides and the park is your favorite place to be.

You LOVE popcorn right now! It's your favorite snack! You even ask for it in the mornings when you get up.

I'm pretty sad, we are converting you crib to the toddler bed next weekend. You haven't even offered to climb out of it yet but I know the day is coming. Plus Mommy will be student teaching this fall and we want you in a good routine and use to sleeping in a big boy bed by then. Summer is the perfect time for this! I'm sure I'll be updating on this soon!

You are doing so much now and we love it! I miss the little baby that just wanted to snuggle but love the big sweet boy that offers kisses, hugs, and "love you toos!" I can't believe in three short months you'll be 2! These have been the best 21 months ever! We love you so much and can't wait to see what the summer holds! Blessing to you sweet angel boy!

I've been...

Really busy these last couple of weeks! If it hasn't been one thing it's been another. I have mainly been busy studying for my teacher certification exam. I've been so stressed over this silly test that my poor family has suffered a little. My mind has been else where and I've been WAY TO UPTIGHT for the last month or two. However, I am happy to report that after lots of hours studying and many many night on my knees praying, I PASSED!!!!!!! The Lord is SO FAITHFUL! No more studying for this Momma! It's going to be a fun and relaxing summer with my boys! Nothing but pool time and cookouts! WOO HOO!! (Relaxing in the blow up pool)
(Nothing's better than Mom and Dad's bed when your sick!)

This past week poor little Wade had the chicken pox!
It was kinda a weird deal. He had strep throat really bad two weeks ago and the doctor said since he had his chicken pox vaccine he probably wouldn't have gotten the chicken pox wherever he was expose to them, however, since he had strep so bad his immune system was weak and he got them. Luckily, he got them early and it was a VERY LIGHT case! And thankfully he felt great the whole time! He just couldn't go to daycare all last week! So he stayed at his Grammy and Poppy's for two nights and Mommy stayed home with him two days and then two sweet friends kept him another day! Needless to say he was so happy to see all his friends and Miss Aaron at daycare this morning! (Headed to daycare to see his friends)
(Outside at Grammy and Poppy's)

Besides our family chaos I've also had a ton of b
aby showers! I'm surrounded by pregnant friends right now which has been a little hard since I would LOVE to be pregnant right now too but that's another story for another post. Anyway, I've been lucky enough to get to help or through baby showers for some of my dearest friends so that's kept me busy as well. I am happy to report this coming weekend will be a LAZY event free weekend for the Wright family and we wouldn't have it any other way! We plan to kick back, BBQ, swim and enjoy each other! What have you been up to??

Mother's Day Weekend

This past weekend was Mother's Day Weekend. The boys and I loaded up and headed to Stamford to be with my Mom this year. It was a jam-packed, fun filled weekend. We arrived around lunch of Saturday. That evening we headed to Abilene for one of my oldest and dearest friend's little girl's birthday party and then dinner at my Aunt's house. Wade had such a good time at Charli Kate's birthday party. It was at one of those bouncy houses and he LOVED it.

Sunday we all got up and had breakfast and opened our mother's day gifts. The boys got me the cutest pair of capri pants. Wade helped Poppy "water" the yard! More like just run through the sprinkler. Then it was off to church. After church we all piled in the car along with my two sets of grandparents and met my Aunt, Uncle and Cousin at Perini Ranch for lunch. It was DELICIOUS! Pretty sure I gained 10 lbs just from the bread pudding dessert I had! It was worth it. After lunch the Boys and I climbed back in the car for our 2 1/2 hr drive back home. It was a short busy weekend but we wouldn't have had it any other way. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful, loving, caring, fun mother that I can call my best friend. I feel double blessed by my sweet, adoring husband who takes care of me and provides for Wade and I and for my precious Wade. What an honor it is that God chose me to be his Mommy! Happy belated Mother's Day to all my Mommy friends! Hope it was as wonderfully blessed as mine!

Terrible Twos......6 Months EARLY!!! YIKES!

Oh my. I'm just sitting here trying to figure out where my sweet, loving little boy disappears to during the day. It's like while the sun is out he will just see how defiant he can be. This just started this week and I must say I'm ready for it to be over (YES, i know I have a good 20 yrs of this ahead of me).

It all started Saturday when he learned how to u
se the word "no." I asked him to please sit down in his chair only to hear these dreaded words, "No, No Mama." EXCUSE ME??? "No, No Mama?" Where did that come from, it's OK, it was an accident, he didn't really me to say that to his Mommy. "Wade, please sit down in your chair for Mommy."
"No!"

And the rest is history from there. He threw the halo out and pulled out the big guns. Not only did he learn the word "No" he also figured out Nana, his precious monkey friend, could be used as a weapon. For example, if you have just told him not to do something he will grunt and come swing his monkey violently at you. Needless to say, my child has spent A LOT of time in time out and had his fare share of spankings this week, and it's only Wednesday.

How do you tell your child "No" for telling you "No?" An
d obviously you are contradicting yourself if you spank your child for hitting you. I have just been praying that the Lord would allow Wade to understand we are disciplining him because we love him, not out of anger and frustration, and also, that I'm parenting my child in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. I just continue to pray that he will guide my mind and heart on this fun little journey call parenthood.

I refuse to have that child that is screaming and hitting his mother in the store because she won't let him have candy. With lots of patience, love and prayer, my parents got my siblings and I to behave and I know we will do the same with Wade. I love this little boy with all my heart and will do anything for him, including making him mind and be a sweet boy. I LOVE being a Mommy and I wouldn't change anything about this experience, I know the Lord is growing BOTH of us!! May he help us along the way! :)

18 months

Mr. Wade,

I just have a hard time believing your are 18 months old. In
6 short months you will be TWO! Where has the time gone, how can my sweet baby that LOVED to be held and cuddled be 34 inches tall and weigh 25 lbs!! It blows my mind! We have had a lot of fun this past month, we really haven't done much but you have talked your head off and it's been hilarious! Here's what you've been up too!

You learned to eat with utensils this month! You love to eat with a fork because you stab your food aggressively (hope that's not a sign of thin
gs to come), when you use your spoon you say "scoop" when you put food on it.
(Mommy took you to Bless Your Heart for frozen yougurt! We were celebrating Mommy being done with classes FOREVER! Notice you have TWO spoons, you thought the yogurt was FABULOUS!)

We discovered Nutella this month and you LOVE it. You mainly just want to eat it by it's self but you will eat it on crackers or a banana to make momma happy! You are starting to eat small meals more frequently verses a big meal 3 times a day and one snack. You discovered red velvet cupcakes on Daddy's birthday and thought they we
re a little piece of Heaven. You would take a bite, close your eyes and hold out an "hmmmmmmm" for a long time and then repeat the process. And you either ate a big one by yourself or three mini ones!!

You have become quiet the helper. Your favorite thing is for me to turn
on the dust buster and to vacuum the kitchen! I love it! You also want to throw your diapers away after we change you and then give us a high five for doing so!

You are having separation anxiety big time! W
hich is odd to me because we have left you with Miss Aaron since you were 4 months old and you have just now decided to cling to us! You haven't even wanted your grandparents to hold you too much because you don't want to let go of Momma or Daddy! Even at bed time your cry when we leave you, and you NEVER do that! When I'm cooking dinner you wrap your arms around my leg and beg for me to hold you. You have also been more attached to Daddy this month than Mommy, which is a recent switch! Usually it's the other way around.

You LOVE to brush your teeth! You will walk right in the bathroom, open my cabinet and get the toothbrush and toothpaste out! You cry when we take it away because you want to run with it in your mouth!

You still LOVE Elmo! Especially on our car trips! We let you wear the headphones on the way to Grammy and Poppy's one weekend and you thought that was so funny! You would put them on and listen and then take them off and dance to the radio, and t
hen put them back on to watch the show. You were entertained for quiet some time!
(Watching Elmo and testing out the headphones. You had a bib on because you had terrible mouth blister on your throat and gums and you were drooling like crazy!)

Nana ( the monkey) still goes everywhere with you! You got a sock monkey for Valentine's day that we thought my start getting to tag along too but that was short lived and only lasted about two day!
(You and Nana sleeping in the car after a fun weekend at Grammy and Poppy's)

You had your last shot until you are four which blows my mind! I don't even want to image you at four years old!! You are still in the 90th percentile on height and 50th of weight! The doctor still comments on how tall you are every time we go! You love Dr. G and Keri but you sure know the nurse that gives the shots and you cry when you see her! Last week you clapped and said "yay" when the doctor came in!

You have found the piano at home and know how to open it and "play" music, which you think is SOOOO funny! You can now climb on our bed by find the side rail and hoisting yourself up!

You still love bath time and being outside. We went to the park several times this past month while it was nice. You played for about 2 hours straight every time we went. You were a little dare devil and climbed up the ladder by yourself (i was standing right behind you to catch you of course) and you went down the slide head first, backwards sitting up, backwards laying down, laying down, you name it you did it and you laughed all the way down each time! You also tried out the swing by yourself. You thought it was pretty funny for Mommy to pu
sh you and then you let go! Scared me to death! Needless to say we will probably hold of swing alone for a few more months! We don't need a broken arm!

Your personality continues to grow and come out daily. Each milestone is bitter sweet. I love that you are growing and changing and it each stage is fun but it is sad to think my first baby isn't such a baby anymore. We love you so much and we are so proud! Here is to another 18 months! Love you!

(I promise I will start to blog about other things than our monthly milestone again! It's just been a busy last few months!)

17 Months

Wade, January 30th you turned 17 months! Yes Mommy is behind again! Honestly, not a whole lot has changed from 16 months. You are still just a busy little bee! ( Fixing out hair for church)

Here is what you've been up to this past month!
We had snow 3 three days this past week and you LOVED it. You really wanted to play in it but you wouldn't leave your gloves on so we couldn't stay out very long.

You are don't care for much meat these days. You're very picky about it. You won't eat chicken nuggets which honestly doesn't hurt my feelings, hot dogs are just ok, you love a chicken fajita burrito with queso from Rosa's, you love grilled chicken and steak, strawberries are still your favorite, you love apples as well, you've stopped eating macaroni and cheese, you still love your broccoli, you love twice baked potatoes, and we cant pry a box of raisins out of your hand if we tried.

You have really started staying "pees" and "tant you" when you want something and we hand it to you. You're big on saying "my momma" and you have started using your signs a lot more. Mainly, all done and more.
(Brushing Our Teeth For Church)

You have become even more attached to Nana the Monkey. You WILL NOT sleep with out it. It got left at daycare one night and needless to say you ended up in bed with us. It was a long night. When you finally did get him back you clung on to him and patted
his back like a mother does a baby, it was so cute! You feel he needs to sit in the highchair and eat with you and you cry and cry when I won't let him take a bath with you.
(Nana keeping him company on the way home from Grammy and Poppy's)

(Can't sleep without my monkey!)

(Or eat without him)

You have also become quite the climber which scares me to death. You try to climb on the piano, on the crib, up your recliner, on the kitchen table, up my m
e, you're climbing everywhere!!! I'm waiting for the day that you climb out of your bed! Something tells me we'll be converting to the toddler bed sooner than later. (An important business call in my office with my coffee.... I mean milk)

We want so bad to give you a baby brother or sister but you could care less. I'll ask if you want one and you shake your head furiously and say "NO." However, if we ask if you want a bubba or sissy you WILL say "bubba." Not sure if you just like the word or if you feel something deep down. Only time will tell I suppose.

Miss Aaron says you have started wrestling with Hunter and Graham at daycare. She said y'all think it is so funny and so much fun. Daddy is proud of this of course. You also love for me to hold you upside down. I see the little boy in you more and more everyday.
(Riding in the car with Elmo today)

You still will stop whatever you're doing and come give me a kiss and a hug when I ask for one. Which melts my heart! If Daddy ask for a kiss you come give me one instead. You would prefer to "bonk" him, which is a gentle headbutt! Dad thinks this is much more manly anyway.

Dad has you wild about balls. You love to play with a basketball and football and a little bouncy ball. Dada can tell you to find the ball and you go running and come back with as many as you can carry! This of course makes Daddy very happy.

Words: Tant you (Thank you), Pees (please), B (for uncle Brant), Pop (Poppy), Ammy (Grammy), Bookie (Brooke), Pawpaw (Papaw), Nana, Love, milk, w
ater, emo (elmo), Momma, Dada. I'm sure there are more, I just can't remember them all.

You love COOKIES!!! I made the mistake of buying girls scout cookies and I'm pretty sure you haven eaten most of them!

Our favorite time together is still your bedtime story. There is nothing like you snuggling up with my in your rocking chair and laying your head on
my chest while I read to you. If I let you choose the book you ALWAYS pick the Bible. You also love the Bernstein Bears with the flaps that you can lift up yourself. After your story you are always ready for bed! ( I love my bath tablets that change the water colors!)

I just can't believe you are almost 1 1/2. Time is flying by too fast. I find you doing something like me chasing you through the aisle at church yesterday and you squealing in delight and running and laughing and I just want to freeze time. I want to remember every second with you. I continue to pray that you would humble yourself before the Lord and His diligent servant. I pray that you would just be broken for Him and seek Him in all you do. We love you so much and we continue to fall more and more in love with you daily. We love you sweet boy!

(Cheap entertainment, and no we did not put him in there, he got in by himself!)
