Wade Update 2 yrs 6 months

Mr. Wade it's been a while since Mommy has updated on you. You've been doing and saying some pretty funny things lately and we have hit some milestones that I sure don't want to forget so I wanted to write them all down. (bundled up for a snow day we had a few weeks ago)

First things first! Your vocabulary has really taken off late
ly. You have started to repeat just about anything we ask you to. You've started putting sentences together but you still tell us things or ask for somethings with just one or two words. Not everyone can always understand what your saying (Sometimes Daddy even needs a little help from me) but I Mommy usually always knows what it is your saying or want. One of my favorite things you do right now is Daddy will say "I love you buddy!" and you will reply "I wuv you buddy!" Melt my heart!! After everything I do for you, run up and say "Tank you Mama!" and you don't stop until I say "your welcome." You've also started tell me "your welcome" if I say thank you! (I'm loving those manners!) We're still working on Yes Ma'am and Yes Sir and your slowly getting the hang of it! You will always say it when we correct you!

Your two favorite shows right now are Thomas the Train
and Duck Tales. You started out calling Thomas "Taunty" and then moved to "Tommy" and you have finally master "Thomas" this week. You call Duck Tales "Whoo Whoo" because of the theme song. You love to sing a long with the them song too, it's so cute! You don't mind shopping with me as long as you have Elmo going on my phone, I'm always surprised at how much longer you last when I pull it out! A few weeks ago I took you on our first of many Mommy and son dates. We went to sonic and got drinks and took them into your first movie. You loved the movie theater popcorn and sour patch kids. We went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwreck. I was so proud, you sat through all but the last 10 minutes of the movie! When we got done you told me how much fun you had and said "thank you momma!" We are scheduled to see The Lorax sometime soon!!!
(blurry picture of you at your first movie!)

Two weeks ago we moved you to your new big boy room! Momma broke down when we got it all finished, your not suppose to be big enough to be sleeping in a full size bed. I was nervous about the move, I didn't know if you would like it or understan
d that your old room was going to be Pyper's room but to my surprise you LOVE your new room. Every morning you wake up and say "I like my bed" which makes Momma so happy! You don't seem to fight bedtime as much anymore either. Your also really happy about the fact that Momma can lay down with you again. Before I was pregnant some night you would ask for me to lay down with you and I gladly would. Once I started getting bigger I could no longer squeeze in your toddler bed with you and the floor was too uncomfortable to lay on so Daddy would lay on the floor next to you. Now, your not happy unless I lay in bed with you which I secretly love! It's some more of our special one on one time. You tell me about your day and give me a thousand hugs and kisses and try to make me laugh (which you usually can do). After much stalling and playing you finally ask me to rub your back which usually just sounds like "Back, Back", and snuggle up to me and fall asleep. None of this however, takes place until I've read your bedtime story to you and Daddy and I have prayed with you!
(Your first look at your new bed! You loved it)
( This was your first night sleeping in your new bed! You looked pretty comfy to me!)

You're so close to being potty trained. You do wonderful at Miss Aaron's house. You hardly every have any accidents there, however, we can't seem to convin
ce you to poop in the potty yet. Daddy and I haven't pushed you on the subject too much here. Our goal is to hit it hard in the next few weeks and hopefully have you completely potty trained before sister is here. When you see Dad or I go you always say "I tee tee in the potty" and take your clothes off and at least try. You don't always really go but I'm glad to see you trying. Two weeks ago, you decided to stop napping on Sunday afternoons. Just Sundays. We made you lay down and try anyway. You got up and banged on the door for a good 10 minutes, we thought you just didn't want to sleep but when we opened the door boy were we wrong. You had really gotten creative! You took your diaper off and pooped in the floor in two different places, then you took your favorite tractor and drove it through the "mud!" WHAT A MESS!!!! I wasn't sure we'd every get it cleaned up. Then, last week you took your diaper off and aimed right for your bedspread. So needless to say, it's time to get the big boy undies out.

You LOVE to help us cook, especially when Daddy is g
rilling something outside. You get your own special pair of tongs and get to pull up a chair in front of the grill. Your not as interested in cooking with me unless I have the hand held mixer out or your going to get to lick some icing off something. (Enjoying a sucker on the way home)

Your getting so tall. Your still in the 95th percentile in height and I can't believe how long your legs are getting. There are two other boys as daycare that are just a few days older/younger than you and you've got a good inch or two on them. D
ad just hopes that doesn't tapper off like it did with him. (Ready for church last Sunday)

You LOVE to go see your grandparents. On Sunday's you know we go to your Nonnie and Papaw's for lunch and the first thing you say is "Archer and Papaw" when we drive up. Every morning you wake up and ask to say hi to your Pop Pop, which means you want to call him. You also point to the computer and ask to say hi to Grammy which means you want to skype.

You have become quite the coloring kid. You come home and get
your crayons and coloring books out and boss me to sit and color with you. We don't stay on the same page for long but it's something we love doing together. However, I wish you'd let me pick my own crayons, your pretty bossy about what colors I can use.

You still LOVE bath time!! Your new thing is bubbles. If we forget you're quick to remind us that we need to throw some in. Lately, you've just been laying flat on your back and relaxing in the water. You sure know our routine too, as soon as dinner is ove
r you say "ok, bath!" It's nice that we don't have to fight you on that! (You and I go get frozen yogurt after school sometimes)

I think a part of you knows that there is a big change coming to our household. You will point to my belly and say "kisses" which means you want me to lift up my shirt so you can kiss your sissy. You also lay your hands on my belly and lay your head down and say "hugs." Then you always lift up your shirt and want me do to the same thing to you! Some days you want to see Daddy's baby in his belly. We have to explain it's just Momma that has the baby. You tried to put on a pair of hot pink bloomers the other day. I had to explain those were Pyper's. You seemed a little confused by that. Your love to look at all her clothes though. Daddy brought home a bow for her last night and you were more excited than anyone to op
en it. There is a new baby at church that you love which makes me so excited to see you with your sister, I can already tell your going to be so protective of her! (Crashed out on Mom in the recliner)

You've become even more loving over the last few weeks which I love. Some days it hits me that these will be the last few months that your my only baby. I'm soaking up our alone time together and enjoying every hug and kiss you ask for. I know that I'm going to love you both equally but I don't want you to feel pushed out or like your place is being ta
ken. I know we will all transition well once she is here but Momma wants you to know how much we love you!!
(Hanging out with your Daddy!)

You are such a blessing and I'm so thankful that God picked your Daddy and I to be your earthly parents. We are so proud of the little boy you are growing into. We continue to pray that you would have an obedient servant's heart, and that you will continue to grow into a Godly young man. You bring more joy and laughter to this house than you will ever know. If i'm down or sad about something I can always count on my little man to make me smile. We love you so much!!

Homesick

This morning I woke up feeling homesick. What's funny is that I haven't lived around the Abilene area for the last 6 years but I still think of it as my home. I've had my own home with my own little family for the last 4 years, but there is something about my parent's home and Abilene that will always be home to me. Now, some of you may be thinking, why not get in the car and go? I would in a heartbeat, especially since Wade has told me all week long that we WERE going to his Grammy and Poppy's house but, I can't travel anymore. The last weekend we went home it was just too hard on me being in the car and I always do too much when I go. I came back home and lived in the recliner for the next two days trying to take some of the pressure off of my cervix. So, I guess I'll just have to keep missing home until June sometime. Just in time for the nice HOT weather!!

Here are just a few of the people/things I'm missing and woul
d love to see!!

I'm ready to hang out with these to WONDERFUL people! We've seen my mom a few times in the last month or two but my Dad has been so busy with work we haven't seen him. AND, when my mom was here it was to work on things, we are ready to hang out with them without an agenda!!
Next, I would stop in to see my Great Grandmother (left) and my Grandma (right). My grandmother is 90, YES 90! And she still gets around and loves to play games, and my Grandma will be 87 in September and this special lady still drives herself to Hobbs to visit her sister, plays bridge twice a week and goes out with friends, not t
o mention she loves to whip up on you when playing games!
Then we'd swing on over to these two cuties. My other sweet grandparents. Papa always has a good story to tell and Gran is always waiting with a coke and something to eat.

Next, I would drive on over to see my fun loving, crazy aunt Christie! This lady knows how to have a good time! Get her, and my Dad together and you've got a party!! Then I would want to head on over to this placewith this pretty lady!! My BFF from high school and I LOVE us some Casa Herrera!! Pyper and I sure have been craving some of their yummy Mexican food and a long girls day with my sweet friend!
And lastly, I would LOVE to go to the delicious place with my handsome hubby for a hot date! If you've never been out to Perini Ranch in Buffalo Gap you must make it a point to go sometime. Wonderful prime rib, jalapeno poppers, green beans, hominy casserole, and the best bread pudding with a bourbon sauce for dessert. Yes, this pregnant lady's mouth is watering.

As much as I want to be there, I know staying here for this sweet baby girl to grow is the right thing to do. I'll see ya in June Abilene!

25 week bump date

How far along: 25 weeks! Yikes, three weeks shy of the THIRD trimester!!!

Size of baby: According to thebump.com Pyper is the size of a eggplant! She is about 13.6 to 14.8 inches long and weighs somewhere between 1.5 to 2 lbs.

Total weight gain: 14 lbs.
Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!! Miss Pyper Grace!

Movement: Her kicks and rolls are getting even stronger this week. I've started to feel her more during the day this week and most of her kicks have been on my far right side, so I'm guessing she's still breech. (Please turn before 34 weeks sweet girl!)

Sleep: Starting to feel a little more worn out in the evenings so sleep is still going good. Still takes me a little while to get comfortable so I'm always ticked when it's time to make the first of many bathroom trips.

What I miss: Nothing right now

Cravings: food in general for the most part still sounds pretty good.

Symptoms: Tired by the end of the day, some lower back ackes, round ligament growing pains.

Maternity clothes: Broke down and bought a pair of maternity jeans yesterday. All my maternity clothes from Wade are WAY to big ( I was a WHALE with him) so I've been holding out as long as I could, I'm still doing good with the bella band but it's becoming some what uncomfortable when I sit for long periods of time so I got a pair of maternity jeans. Still mostly regular tops with a few maternity mixed in.

Best moments this week: Wade wanting me to lift up my shirt so he could kiss and hug Pyper. Melted my heart that he asked all my himself.

I know I say this a lot but I can't believe how FAST this pregnancy if flying by. Wade was here 11 weeks from this point and while we hope Pyper makes it at least one week longer than that so she won't be considered pre-term, we have to be prepared and know that she too could arrive 4 weeks early to given my history and short cervix.

This week has been full of lots of emotions. Some of them I know I would be feeling pregnant or not, but I know all these hormones surging through my body have definitely helped out my melt downs. It's really hit me this week that these next few months and weeks are going to be my last with just Wade. Don't get me wrong we are SO EXCITED to meet our sweet princess and bring her home but right now I'm soaking up every last second I have alone with my first baby. Part of me has cried just knowing that 2 1/2 short years ago it was HIM we were planning for. It's all gone by too fast, he's doing too much, talking so much and acting more and more like a little boy. I may or may not have completely lost it when I saw his big boy room completely finished. I know watching him be a big brother and love on his sissy will only make me fall more in love with him though. God is preparing my heart for two sweet angels but until she gets here, I'm treasuring my one on one time with my little man!

24 week bump date

How far along: 24 weeks! She will be here before we know it!

Size of baby: According to thebump.com Pyper is the size of a grapefruit! She is about 11.8 inches long. We went to the doctor Tuesday and she weighed 1 lb 8 ounces. Wow 1 1/2 lbs! Grow baby grow!

Total weight gain: 14 lbs. I have too many good cooks that live close by. I've GOT to slow down!

Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!! Miss Pyper Grace!

Movement: Her kicks and rolls are getting stronger. I'm enjoying watching my belly shake and move with her little punches! She is most active about 8:00 pm. We just might have a night owl on our hands. Two weeks ago she was head down, Tuesday she was breech, she's been busy flipping around!

Sleep: Sleep is still good. Takes a little longer to get comfortable and my bathroom trips have increased a lot!! I'm up at least 4 times at night. She is so low though I guess she is just laying on my bladder. I've been having really scary or sad dreams too, that makes it hard to go back to sleep.

What I miss: Nothing right now

Cravings: food in general for the most part still sounds pretty good.

Symptoms: Tired by the end of the day, so lower back ackes, round ligament growing pains.

Maternity clothes: Still just the belly band with my regular pants and mostly regular tops.

Best moments this week: Getting Pyper and Wade's rooms painted and getting Wade all settled into his big boy room. Now we can start putting the nursery together.

Also, having Mom here Monday and Tuesday to help us paint was nice. Mom and I always have a blast together. My mom-in-law also helped paint and the three of us just enjoyed getting to play and be together!

Seeing my belly move with her rolls.

Furniture Feud

For the last two weeks Brody and I have worked hard trying to decide/agree on big boy furniture for Wade's new room! Now let me just tell you a little bit about Brody and I. It is by the grace of God that our marriage works. That saying opposites attract is so true! Now, our family background is A LOT a like, we were both raised very similar to each other, when I say we are different I guess I mainly mean in style. Now thankfully, I've proven myself to him in our nearly four years of marriage and he has come to see the things I can do when it comes to the house, but the one thing we have never agreed on is furniture. We got a new bedroom set when we got married and lets just say it was amazing we went through with the wedding after that battle. YES, I know how silly this sounds, we find ourselves saying that during the argument, none the less we have a hard time agreeing.

Two weeks ago we decided to drop Wade off at his Grandparents house so we could go on a "furniture date." After four different furniture stores we had come to an agreement on something, but before we stopped back in to order Brody wanted to look at one last place to make sure we weren't missing something, well wouldn't you know he found something cheaper and that HE loved, Momma not so much. When it comes to furniture I think you get what you pay for, given that it was so much cheaper, it looked cheap, which usually means it won't hold up, thus my reasons for not liking it. Keep in mind we are buying something that is going to get him through high school even. We kept the day pleasant and joked about how of course I didn't like it and he did and left it at that. As the week went on, we both knew we needed to decide on something as they would have to order and it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get here, postponing setting up his new room and the nursery. After much frustration and arguing Brody decide to bribe me with a new recliner (ours is so nasty)! Though that was NOT what I wanted to do, gave in to stop the arguing and get the stuff ordered!!!

SOOOO......this past Saturday, we wondered into a different furniture store that we had not yet been to, to find Momma a recliner. The sweetest sales man meet us at the door and pointed us to some lovely chairs. I happened to mention that we were not agreeing on Wade's furniture and he pointed us to three great bedroom suites. GUESS WHAT?? Brody and I found one we BOTH LOVED and it was on sale!!! I told Brody that since it was still a little more than the other we could forget about the chair, but he was so happy that we agreed and both got something we liked and bought me a chair anyway! Sweet hubby! Even better, they had the suite in stock and it will be here Tuesday!!

My sweet Momma will be here Monday to help me paint both rooms and get the furniture arranged and set up!! Pictures of the new furniture and big boy room to come next week!!! :)

23 weeks

How far along: 23 weeks! It is crazy to think that 13 weeks from this point Wade was born, and seeing as how they will take my cerclage out at 36 weeks that is still a possibility with Pyper. This is FLYING BY!

Size of baby: According to thebump.com Pyper is the size of a pomegrante! She is about 11.8 inches long and weighs between 12.7 to 20.8 ounces! We went to the doctor last Thursday and she weight 1 lb 2 ounces so I'm guessing she probably gained an ounce or two.

Total weight gain: 11 lbs so far.

Gender: IT'S A GIRL!!!!

Movement: Movement is still good. Most active in the morning and at night before bed. She pretty much sleeps through the day.

Sleep: Getting up more and more to go to the bathroom but can usually fall right back to sleep. I rotate from my left to right side all night long and I'm most comfortable with a pillow between my legs to support my little belly and hips! I'm starting to miss sleeping on my belly, my shoulders are getting sore from sleeping so hard on them ha!

What I miss: Maybe sleeping on my belly!

Cravings: Still fruit, and apple pie or cobbler, gotta stop that!!!!!

Symptoms: Tired in the evenings and ready to put my feet up if it's been a busy day. Other than that i'm feeling really good!

Maternity clothes: Still just the belly band with my regular pants and mostly regular tops.

Best moment this week: Baby girls bedding is finished and was delivered to me Saturday! I can't wait to start on her room, however, that is going to be bitter sweet as we are moving Wade to a new room and a full size bed instead of a toddler bed. That's another story for a different day though!
